Do You Mangle?

Do you mangle your clothes?

Do you even know what a mangle is?

A mangle is a machine used in a laundry or, in some cases, a home.  It’s much like a presser, although the original purpose was to wring out the water from freshly washed clothes and then to press them.

Many of the early mangles included chairs for the operators.  Often the machines were four to five feet tall or wide – or even larger.
